Green Infrastructure Partners- Prairie Division "GIP" (Formally Nelson River Construction) is hiring a motivated Quality Control Supervisor for our Asphalt Quality Control Division for the 2026 Construction Season.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for overseeing CCIL laboratories, coring operations, the Nuclear Density Program, and providing quality control support to asphalt crews on bituminous paving, aggregate crushing, micro-surfacing, and chip seal projects.

This role ensures consistent interpretation and application of client specifications and special provisions to maintain compliance across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee CCIL laboratory operations and related testing programs
  • Supervise coring operations and the Nuclear Density Program
  • Provide quality control support to asphalt crews on paving and related projects
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of client specifications and special provisions
  • Perform and supervise materials testing for asphalt and aggregate, including:
    • Marshall and Superpave Mix Design
    • CCIL Type A, B, C, and D testing
  • Ensure all materials and workmanship meet project specifications and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma, Civil Technician Certificate, or equivalent education and experience
  • CCIL Technician Certification
  • Experience in asphalt mix design and consensus testing
  • Experience with CCIL Aggregate Type C and D testing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Strong interest in developing technical expertise in road construction quality control methods
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Commitment to quality service excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork

Compensation

Hourly Wage:
$31.00 – $36.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Overtime Pay:
Overtime is paid at the applicable overtime rate under the following conditions:

  • April 1 – October 31: After 50 hours per week
  • November 1 – March 31: After 48 hours per week
  • Weekends: All hours worked on Saturday and Sunday qualify for overtime, regardless of hours worked during the week

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License and produce a current drivers abstract prior to start
  • Must be able to frequently travel to work sites within the province which may require overnight stays in a hotel or camp environment
  • Must be able to work out of town
  • Must be able to work various shifts including weekends.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment and can be exposed to construction equipment, roadway traffic, fabrication plant equipment, noise, dust, hand/power tools, and moving equipment.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the required duties of the position such as bending/lifting (up to 25 kgs).

Successful candidates must be willing to work out of town and in remote locations in a camp environment.  Accommodations may vary between hotels and camp depending on location of job and candidates home location.  Candidates must be willing to stay in either accommodation.  Preference will go to candidates local to the area in which the project is located.
