Nelson River Construction (NRC) is currently hiring a motivated Vactor Operator for their Underground Division: Sewer and Water Infrastructure.

The Position:

The Vactor Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vactor, which includes flushing and vacuum duties as well as Hydra Excavation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate the vactor truck and other equipment in a safe manner
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Participate in toolbox talks
• Follow directions from supervisors as to required work area
• Willing to work overtime and out of town on occasion

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience within the Sewer and Water construction industry an asset
• Valid class 3A driver’s license
• Experience with Mechanical and electronics
• Ability to read and follow specifications as to the industry standards and trouble-shoot if problems arise
• Ability to work in outdoor setting which may include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and dirt
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
