Summary

Nelson River Construction is hiring a motivated Shop Supervisor - Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Equipment and Maintenance Division out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of a team of heavy-duty mechanics, truck and trailer mechanics and welders, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards without sacrificing safety and quality
  • Alongside Equipment Supervisor, schedule daily and weekly work projects
  • Perform performance evaluations and provide feedback to mechanics to encourage professional growth
  • Communicate on the diagnostics and status of repairs, parts and other concerns
  • Other duties as assigned

 Job Requirements

  • Red Seal Heavy-Duty Mechanic with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a construction setting.
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Experience leading and motivating a team an asset
  • Strong background in electrical and hydraulic diagnosis
  • Basic knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
  • Previous experience working on CAT equipment and SIS an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Focused, energetic and organized with superior attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication
  • Able to read and understand prints, drawings and technical bulletins
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Basic computer knowledge
