Summary

Reporting to the Foreman, the Labourer is responsible for providing assistance with various underground projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the Foreman, completing daily tasks in an effective and safety-conscious manner.
• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Assist and work with operators in trenching to required depths.
• Load, unload and move construction materials around the worksite.
• Ensure work site is organized and free of clutter, rubble and garbage.

Job Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Must be able to work with little supervision; be self-directed
• Punctual and available to work full time, overtime and weekends as needed
• Able to read and understand drawings
• Able to operate equipment considered an asset
• Ability to follow directions; hard work and dependability are extremely important
• Familiar with construction methods for all types of sewer pipe material
• Training and certification in confined space, fall protection, H2S, and first aid is an asset
• Must be willing to work out of town and at times in a camp environment if needed
